The ending of ...RhiLi

Some of you might have noticed the lack of new sessions on the website and FB page. I have decided to close RhiLi Photography as a business. The last year was very busy and began taking too much time away from my family. My husband and I chose for me to be a stay at home mom before we had our first child and with the business I began to feel like I was letting my family down being away and “busy” so often. RhiLi started out as a “side” job and a creative outlet. Because of all of your wonderful support and word of mouth advertising, RhiLi grew into a full time business. I am so grateful to have met all of you and to have been a part of capturing your lifetime memories.

If I have taken your portraits in the past and you would like something taken in the future, please feel free to contact me. I would still love to “shoot” occasionally and be there for past clients. This FB page and the blog will continue to be online. Both Lisa and I will be doing creative concept shoots and family and friend portraits.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message me on FB or email me at rhiliphotography@gmail.com. The past email address of inquire@rhiliphotography.com and the website will not be available from this point forward.

Again, thank you all so much for your support.

Pretty Girls & Mud

This concept has been a long time coming. Rhiannon started talking about it months ago, while our Oregon weather was still too cold to contemplate putting our models through this. Finally, our warm weather hit, and we threw it together as quickly as we could. Luckily, we already had the models lined up and ready to go. The clothing had been discussed, and fabrics purchased, but nothing had been assembled yet. Rhiannon put her mad sewing skills on display, whipping out these three beauties in just a few days. One outfit was topped off with a gorgeous white leather studded corset by our awesomely awesome friend Kayrene, of LeatherGirlKelley {you MUST check her out. We love her stuff and own too many of her pieces to count}. When the big day rolled around, the sun was up and shining, as we spent 3 hours prepping hair and makeup before loading up and heading out for another 3 hours of shooting. In the end, the beautiful dresses were destroyed and discarded, but the images turned out amazing! Definitely one of our best/funnest shoots to date.

Rhi Flying Solo

2011 was a wonderfully crazy, busy year. We thoroughly enjoyed our business, which seems to be growing my leap and bounds. Thank you all for sharing your memories, yourselves and your families with us.
Photography started out as a hobby for me. I loved to look through a lens knowing that I have the potential to turn something beautiful into something glorious. Eventually, I wasn't the only one that loved the images I was able to create, and people began volunteering to be my subjects- and they wanted to pay me for it! Get paid for something I love to do? Yes, please! That's when I created my own business, which ultimately merged with Rhiannon Urquhart Photography to create RhiLi Photography. The whole experience has gone above and beyond what I could have imagined.
While I have enjoyed the ride, it's begun to require more sacrifice than I am willing to give. Being a stay at home mom is my priority. My children are growing older, and are involved in several sports and activities. We have so little time at home as a family now, and I feel like I am often rushing off and missing those times we could be spending together. Occasionally I have even had to miss a game or performance to attend a previously scheduled shoot, and it just breaks my heart. I love photography, but I can't allow it to interfere with raising my children & being there for them every step of the way.
I will still be a part of RhiLi Photography, but Rhiannon will be doing almost all sessions solo. I will still be attending all weddings, but only the occasional session beyond that.
Thank you for everything, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
